Hello everyone!

My name is Anissa Acuna, and I am the Assistant Principal at Maze Middle School.

I am a Hollister native, and I have lived here since 2000. I attended Calaveras, Maze, and, of course, San Benito High School (Hollister High). After graduating from high school, I continued to Hartnell College and San Jose State University, where I graduated with my degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management.

After graduating, I worked for the San Francisco 49ers, Levi's Stadium, and Pebble Beach Resorts in management roles during high-profile events like Taylor Swift, NFL games, and the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It was a lot of fun, but I wanted to give back to the community that raised me.

After returning to Hollister, I started substitute teaching in the Hollister School District, and I fell in love with the education system. I was a middle school teacher for 4 years, a 3rd grade teacher for 2, and a 2nd grade teacher for 1.

Now I am absolutely thrilled to be back at Maze as the assistant principal, and I can't wait to see what this year brings!
